Visite de la côte Nord de Majorque, Espagne

Avant que je parte pour Manchester, nous avons décidé avec ma mère de visiter Majorque. J’avais une semaine de vacance début septembre et vu que les vols depuis Toulouse pour Palma de Majorque à cette époque de l’année n’étaient pas chers nous avons opté pour cette destination.

Nous avions loué une chambre grâce au site Airbnb chez Tony. Sa maison est située près du village de Pollença au milieu de la campagne majorquine. Une endroit paradisiaque avec la piscine et la vue sur la montagne.

Le Nord de Majorque qui comprend la baie de Pollença et la baie Alcúdia fait partie des plus beaux endroits de l’île et nous avons été époustouflés par les paysages.

La baie de Pollença :

Le village de Pollença n’est pas très incroyable en lui même mais le port est un endroit très agréable pour se promener le soir et déguster une glace. C’est très touristiques et malheureusement les prix des restaurants sont assez élévés.

L’activité principale à Pollença est de prendre la route qui va jusqu’au Cap Formentor. Les vues tout au long du trajet sont magnifiques et il y a également beaucoup des sentiers de randonnées. Cette route est facile d’accès, quand nous y sommes allés nous pouvions accéder au Cap en voiture mais j’ai entendu dire que bientôt ce ne sera plus possible.

Cap Formentor est très populaire, je vous conseille donc d’y aller tôt le matin avant que les bus de touristes n’arrivent pour profiter pleinement de la beauté du paysage. La route se termine au Phare de Formentor où vous trouverez un petit café et des toilettes.

La baie d’ Alcúdia 

La vieille ville d’Alcúdia est une ancienne ville fortifiée et est donc très agréable à visiter. Je vous conseille donc d’aller déambuler dans ses rues lors d’une matinée et de finir votre journée à la plage ce que nous avons fait car il faisait très chaud lors de notre semaine environ 35°C à 40°C tous les jours.

La vieille ville est habitée à l’année mais elle est surtout composée d’hôtels, restaurants et boutiques de produits artisanaux. Il n’y a pas beaucoup de voitures qui circulent dans les rues ce qui permet de bien profiter de la beauté des lieux. L’architecture des maisons est incroyable.

La baie d’ Alcúdia est assez prisée par les surfers et autres sports d’eau. La plage est de sable fin et très longue et même s’il y a beaucoup de monde vous trouverez un endroit pour poser votre serviette.

Nous avons testé trois plages dans cette partie de l’île.

La première nous fut recommandé par notre hôte Tony car elle est peut connue des touristes donc parfaite pour être au calme. C’est la plage de Cala Sant Vicenç

Pollença

La deuxième nous l’avions repéré le premier jour des vacances quand nous sommes allés visité Cap Formentor. C’est la plage de Formentor. Il faut y aller assez tôt le matin pour être tranquille et aller vers le côté droit de la plage pour s’éloigner de la foule. L’eau est très claire et peu profonde parfait pour les enfants ou personnes qui ne savent pas nager.

La troisième est la Playa de Muro à Alcúdia. Nous y sommes allés après notre visite Alcúdia et malheureusement même s’il faisait très chaud il y avait beaucoup de vent. Ce qui fait que nous n’avons pas vraiment pu nous baigner car les vagues étaient assez impressionnantes. La plage est très touristique et nous n’avons pas entendu une seule fois parlé espagnol de l’après midi. Je ne la recommande pas si vous chercher un endroit traquille et authentique.

Playa de Formentor

Before I left for Manchester, we decided with my mother to visit Mallorca. I had a week’s holiday in early September and considering that flights from Toulouse to Palma de Mallorca at this time of year were cheap we opted for this destination.

We rented a room at Tony’s through Airbnb website. His house is located near the village of Pollença in the middle of the Mallorcan countryside. A heavenly place with pool and mountain views.

The North of Majorca, which includes the bay of Pollença and the bay of Alcúdia is one of the most beautiful part of the island and indeed we were blown away by this beautiful landscape.

The bay of Pollença:

The village of Pollença is not very incredible in itself but the port is a very nice place to walk in the evening and enjoy an ice cream. It is very touristy and unfortunately the prices of the restaurants are quite high.

The main activity in Pollença is to drive on the road that goes as far as Cap Formentor. The views all the way are magnificent and there are also many hiking trails. This road is easy to get to, when we went we could get to Cape Town by car but I heard that soon it will not be possible.

Cap Formentor is very popular, so you should go early in the morning before the tourist buses arrive to fully enjoy the beauty of the scenery. The road ends at the Lighthouse of Formentor where you will find a small cafe and toilets.

 The bay of Alcúdia: 

The old town of Alcúdia is an ancient fortified city and is therefore very pleasant to visit. So I advise you to stroll through its streets during a morning and finish your day at the beach. This is what we did because it was very hot during our week there about 35 ° C to 40 ° C every day.

The old town is inhabited all year-round but it is mainly composed of hotels, restaurants and local product shops. There are not many cars on the streets, which make it possible to enjoy the beauty of the place. The architecture of the houses is incredible.

The bay of Alcúdia is quite popular with surfers and other water sports. The beach is of fine sand and very long and even if there are many people you will find a place to put your towel.

We tested three beaches in this part of the island.

Our host Tony recommended the beach of Cala Sant Vicenç to us, as it is unknown to tourists. So this is the perfect for those who seek quietness.

The second one we spotted it the first day of the holiday when we visited Cap Formentor. It is the beach of Formentor. You have to go early in the morning when it is still quiet and go to the right side of the beach to get away from the crowds. The water is very clear and shallow perfect for children or people who cannot swim.

The third is the Playa de Muro in Alcúdia. We went after our visit of Alcúdia and unfortunately even though it was very hot there was a lot of wind. So we could not really swim because the waves were pretty impressive. The beach is very touristy and we did not hear one person speaking Spanish in the afternoon. I would not recommend it if you are looking for an authentic place to visit.
